Stacey Ferrante: I would like to give you a couple of tips that will help you get through the process as a breast cancer patient.? One of those is to maintain an educational binder.
In that binder you would have information about what is breast cancer, the different treatment modalities that are available to you, as well as your contact information for you physicians and the healthcare team.
It is imperative to make that in order to make the best decision to be as educated as possible so that you make the decision that best fits the needs for you and your family.? In this particular binder, some of the things I would like to see you have is a basic educational packet on what is breast cancer that way you know there is different types of breast cancer, so you can know which one you have as well as medication sheet that you would use to list all medications you are taking and that you will be taking in the future and then contact numbers so that you will have an easy reference to look at those numbers if you need to speak to someone.

Stacey Ferrante, RM, MSN, OCN, is a nurse navigator at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Orange County, CA.
